Synopsis
Kaz Brekker and his crew set out to destroy the reputations of two wealthy men—Jan Van Eck and Pekka Rollins. While these men are in good favor with most people, The Crows know about the heaping pile of skeletons hidden away in their closets. Determined to expose who Van Eck and Rollins really are, it's a battle of wits to see who can be the first to pound the other into the ground before time runs out.
Review
Similar to the first book, the sequel kept me guessing. When victory seemed near either for Kaz and his crew or Van Eck or Rollins, it was quickly swept away. I couldn’t put the book down. I wanted to know who would win and live in riches and who would be buried beneath the other's feet. While the characters are on a mission for vengeance and exposing the truth, the story also focuses more deeply on the character's relationships and their blossoming romances.
